| Inter travels to Rome with plenty of attacking firepower and some defensive question marks for Saturday's fifth Serie A matchday is the early top-of-the-table clash between first and second place. Both clubs have collected twelve points. The home side leads Serie A thanks to a superior goal difference. Gian Piero Gasperini faces the reigning champions and cup winners managed by Cristian Chivu. Roma's squad value is around €500 million compared to Inter's approximately €730 million. Inter's squad has greater depth, having been strengthened with new million signings, and they remain title favourite contenders. Roma's progress since finishing third last season, however, makes the match an open one. Gasperini's team initially defeated Fiorentina and Lecce 4-0 each, then beat Atalanta 2-1, followed by a 1-1 draw at Fenerbahce, and most recently a 2-0 victory against Torino. They scored at least two goals in four of these matches and kept a clean sheet three times. The visitors started with a 4-1 win against Monza, followed by a 1-0 victory at Cagliari and then a 3-2 win against Napoli. They then suffered a 1-2 defeat in the Champions League against Real Madrid before beating Udinese 5-3. |
